The traditional men’s fashion weeks have drawn to a close in Paris—and we do mean “traditional,” as more and more menswear designers have chosen to abandon the typical show schedule and bow their collections alongside the women’s in September. This season, the pendulum began its slow swing back from the streetwear-style hoodies and sneakers that have recently dominated the runway, moving towards a quieter elegance. Loose tailoring and a more grown-up approach to dressing feels modern again—a welcome change. For the more casual reader, workwear is the new way forward: Buy a pair of Carhartt pants ASAP.
