CBN, AMCON SUMMONED BY SENATE COMMITTEE OVER CECILIA IBRU'S N150BILLION ASSET

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) , Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON)  and other relevant stakeholders have been summoned by The Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Financial Crimes and Anti-Corruption to appear before it and explain what happened to the 150 billion naira forfeited in assets by Mrs Cecilia Ibru following her conviction of fraud in 2010.

The senate committee says it intends to find out what happened to other assets forfeited by convicted Managing Directors of  Union Bank, Intercontinental Bank, Bank PHB and Afribank Plc

The summons arose as a result of a petition alleging that the funds and properties realised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from Mrs Ibru were not remitted to the banks.
