Creepy Crawlies

Crab Spider
On such a sweltering day the only place to be is outside in a shady spot. Only borders in the darkest corners were weeded and dead headed. Beside me my camera ready to record anything of interest.
As ever hoping for butterflies, they seemed few and far between. Maybe too much breeze, or maybe my late June flowers weren't to their liking. Valerian seems to be their plant of choice at this time of year. I did see a small white fluttering by but it definitely wasn't stopping!
Lilly Beetle
Several lilly beetles came and went during the day. According to Monty on Gardeners World I should squish them if I see them, but they're too pretty for that. Maybe if my lilies get lots of holes I will resort to that.

An early daddy long legs. No doubt it has a proper name
I was very surprised to see a daddy long legs so early in the summer. Normally we are plagued with them in early autumn . Memories of school days and having millions at the classroom door. Always guaranteed to send schoolchildren wild!
Hoverfly.
The hoverflies were about in full force, as were the white tailed bumbles. Making a beeline for the pollen. My ruffled pink poppies were certainly an attraction.

Some type of moth?
As for this moth resting on my dirty lounge windows. Any ideas what type it is?

My three legged friend keeping cool under the holly tree.
Meanwhile Ebby spent the whole day under the holly tree escaping the heat and Mrs blackbird was busy foraging everywhere.

Thanks to CT for enthusing me to see what wildlife was in the garden. Do click on the link here to see what is in her garden at the moment.

I wonder what is creeping about where you live?
