Welcoming Spring With an Antique Crockery Pitcher

Hi Friends, I'm excited today to be joining in with a group that will be starting a new bimonthly Themed Hop. Thank you Cindy from County Road 407, for creating this fun gathering for all of us that are lovers of farmhouse and vintage decor. If you came from visiting CoCo at The Crowned Goat, welcome, I'm so glad that you came by. This month we're sharing our ideas for using crockery in our decor and vignettes.

I don't have a large collection of crockery, actually just a few small pieces that seem to always be somewhere in a cupboard shelf or vignette. Since it's time to start Easter decor I thought I'd share an antique crockery salt-glazed pitcher that was my paternal grandmother's. I don't use a lot of blue, but this is the perfect time to bring it out since the yellow of the Forsythia is a perfect bright and Spring-y compliment.

This is the only information I could find about this old pitcher from checking Ebay: "English sculpted Scratch Blue Cobalt white, salt glazed earthenware, potted from ca. 1860-1920. This is a wonderful English milk pitcher, with a deep and rich Cobalt Scratch Blue Windmill scene."

At the time I took these photos, my Forsythia bushes were just showing buds, so I used some of my faux stems. But now my bushes are coming out like gang-busters so I'll have some photos with the real thing soon.

I have this vintage crate tray on top of my farm table in the Garden Room. This table is such a fun place to decorate because you can see it from the Kitchen and Hearth Room. It's also not used much, so I can layer items to my heart's content with multiple seasonal elements.

My big Bunny Boy has hopped over to check out the pitcher,

along with a nest and a small potted plant.

The raised sculpted windmill design is also on the back side of the pitcher.

I'm not quite sure what the exact name of this plant is,

but I think it's some variety of "Baby Tears".
