just a quick tip for all of you OkCupid users out there.
We all get carried away (swept away? not pun intended) swiping left a little too much when the dating apps become boring. Especially on dating apps where our distance and other standards are set a bit strict, we keep bumping into the same faces and quickly swipe them to the left.
There are upsides and downsides about seeing the same face you swiped left again. It does waste your time if you are truly not interested in them (but then again, you could try to block ALL of the people you are not interested in, but that would take ages). On the other hand, what if you happen to like someone and accidently swipe left? You would love to spot them again, wouldn't you?
It happened to me once. I didn't have a profile picture yet or I saw the man of my dreams. Handsome, from within my region, sweet looking,... I swiped right and sent a message, only to realize I didn't have a picture yet and that he would probably never respond to that. It's not completely related to the problem I will talk about, but I sure wish I had found his profile again... I think he deleted it.
Anyway, back to the core of the problem. You used to be able to shake your phone to recall the swiped profile, I guess? This trick doesn't work, I tried it. There is another solution though:
When you accidently swipe left, you land on the next profile. Well, click on that profile, and then hit the 'back' button on your phone to go back to the DoubleTake. Through a bug in OkCupid, you wind up back where you started in your DoubleTake for that session. So, you may have to swipe tens or hundreds of times again to shuffle back up to the profile you liked, but it might be there. I have noticed that the series is not always an exact copy of what you swiped before, but it definitely always starts back on the first profile you started with since pressing the home button 'OkCupid' or the DoubleTake home button of the website. After pressing those, the series completely refreshes. So make sure it's the 'back' button of your phone you are pressing to not completely reset the series. And to avoid all this, don't swipe too fast. It could change your entire future.
